Day Two in Osaka

Kuromon Ichiba Market in Osaka
The produce and fresh fish in this market was fabulous!

Look at the size of this asparagus! Mary, how is our asparagus doing?

Pufferfish or Blowfish are called Fugu.
We shared a plate of fugu. It had a very mild flavor, not really fishy at all. It was kind of rubbery. We ate the raw meat and the skin (the long pieces).
We bought some veggies and seafood on a stick. The girl fried it to heat it up.

Joe and Chris checking out things.
Joe ordered us some Kobe beef to try. It was VERY tender. The kids told me they feed the cattle sake and massage them, that is why the beef is so tender. They laughed about it and made several comments for the rest of the day. I don't know if it is true or if they are pulling my leg.

Elly just googled it and said they brush and massage the cattle with sake and feed them beer. Gary wants to know how to sign up for this gig...oh wait, he says...this doesn't end well. Never mind..."Doty honey, will you bring me another Asahi."
Elly also read that the Kobe beef is regulated and cannot be sold outside of Japan. Similar products are raised in the United States.
